- Carriage sliding smoothly in dovetail grooved at the base. it can be clamped at any position. its slow motion is achieved through a slide screw attached by a brass knob. it carries a vernier and slides along a scale fixed on the iron base
- Vertical pillar of brass, fixed on the carriage. it has a scale and a slider that carries the vernier with stainless steel embedded.
- The microscope fixed on the vertical pillar. it is adjustable by rack and pinion. it can be clamped at any position. an index mark indicates the correct position in a horizontal or vertical plane.
- The stage is provided with a white plastic plate
- A special arrangement is provided for the transverse movement of the microscope
- Travel: vertically 18 cm, horizontally 22cm, and transversely 6 cm.
- The movement can be measured with help of scale and vernier.

Simple form , focusing from one meter to infinity fitted on tripod stand 18-inch height. This is a good general-purpose laboratory instrument. Its height can be raised 8 cm by rack and pinion and 16 cm by means of a drawtube ( total extension 24cm ) . the column is mounted on heavy cast iron base nicely painted
The scale & vernier are machines divided to accuracy within ±0.01% or better.The horizontal microscope tube is mounted on the vertical column ( fitted with spirit level )and is adjustable by smooth rack & pinion, through twin-knobs on both sides. The microscope moves on the machined inter ground guides.
